Legal Tracker AI assistant

Access to the Global Benchmark timekeeper rate queries is governed by existing Legal Tracker Advanced entitlements and AI Assistant permissions.
The AI Assistant answers industry benchmark questions for timekeeper rates based on aggregated Global Benchmark data. This initial phase covers informational lookups, market awareness, and preparation for rate discussions or negotiations.
The AI Assistant securely queries the Global Benchmark database to return relevant timekeeper rate insights within supported benchmark dimensions.
Ask plain English questions such as:
  • What are industry typical partner rates for employment matters in the U.S.?
  • What is the average associate rate for litigation matters at mid size firms in the U.K. across all Legal Tracker clients?
Include specific keywords in your prompt to query the Global Benchmarks database. The AI Assistant recognizes the following terms: industry, Global Benchmark (or simply GB), benchmark, across LT, and across all Legal Tracker customers.
The AI Assistant automatically filters returned data based on your peer group and aggregates it, then uses the anonymized benchmark data. No individual customer or firm-specific confidential information is exposed.
Future phases will expand this foundation to include comparative views that blend benchmark data with a customer's own Legal Tracker data.

Types of questions to ask

Average hourly rate questions
Questions that ask for the average hourly rate of a specific timekeeper classification.
The AI Assistant filters these by attributes such as years of experience, matter type, substantive law, geography, firm size, or firm rank.
Examples:
  • What is the average hourly rate for partners and associates in bankruptcy across LT?
  • What is the industry average rate for partners in bankruptcy in France, Spain, and the U.K.?
  • What is the average hourly rate for associates with 5 years experience in litigation for large firms in the U.K. across Legal Tracker?
Grouped or aggregated rate questions
Request rates grouped by dimensions like country, firm size, rank, metro area, matter type, substantive law, or timekeeper classification. Each group returns aggregated values like average, median, minimum, or maximum.
Examples:

  • What is the industry median hourly rate for associates in antitrust grouped by firm size?

Percentile and range questions
