Alerts and notifications when law firm matter budgets are created or edited

If you create or edit a Law Firm Matter Budget, other company users who have access to the matter will not receive any alerts.
If the matter is an external matter with a live lead firm or multiple firms, the law firm users will see the following:
  • Budget Display: Law firm users will see the budget in comparison mode—the old budget is shown in gray strike-through text above the new budget numbers. The budget display will change to normal mode when the law firm acknowledges the budget modification.
  • Alerts: Law firm users will receive an Action Items alert (and an email alert if they have their email preferences activated). Once a budget has been created or modified by a company user, a law firm user simply acknowledges the modification. There is no consequence if the law firm does not acknowledge the budget. For example, the law firm can still post invoices, and the budget modified by the company user remains in place. If you do not want the budget further modified, you should lock the budget after you have finished editing it.
