Required role | You must be a matter administrator or a matter editor to edit a document or its profile page.
Edit a document profile from matter-level documents
Select
Matters
>
Matter list
in the left navigation.
Click a matter to open it, then click the
Documents
tab.
Do one of the following to open the document details panel:
Double-click the document in the list.
Right-click the document then select
View Details
.
Click
Edit
.
Make your changes.
Click
Save & close.
Edit a document profile from the Library
Click
Library
in the left navigation.
Find the document you want to edit and click the document name to open the document details panel.
Click
Edit
.
Make your changes.
Click
Save & close.
Edit and replace a document file attachment
Before you replace an attachment for a document, be sure the document has been set up to allow attachment replacements. In the document header details, the Allow File/URL to be Replaced field must be set to Yes.
note
If you replace a document, the original will not be saved and will no longer be accessible by matter participants.
Alternatives to uploading a file
Instead of uploading a file, you can specify a URL or network address (for corporate networks) for an online document, or the location (such as a filing cabinet) for a physical document.
If you enter a corporate network address, only users on that network can view the document.
Select
Matters
>
Matter list
in the left navigation.
Click a matter to open it then click
Documents
.
Find the document with the attachment that you want to replace.
Download the attachment using either of these methods:
Double-click the document in the list to open the details panel, then click the
File Attachment
link.
Right-click the document then select
Download
.
Save the attachment.
Edit the attachment as needed, and save.
Follow steps 1-3 above to return to the Document Details panel.
Click
Edit
on the details panel toolbar, then use the
File Attachment
field to locate the attachment file you updated. If you don't see a
Browse
button below this field, the document is not set up to allow attachment replacements. The
Allow File/URL to be Replaced
field in the document header details must be set to
Yes
.
Click
Save & close
, then close the document details panel by clicking the
