Configuring Block Billing Audits

When the block billing audit is enabled for your company, you can configure the block billing audit to catch instances of block billing and place them all in one area for the invoice reviewers to address. Block billing is the practice of combining various unrelated activities or tasks into a single invoice line item. This type of billing practice can make it difficult for to judge whether the time spent on a billed task was appropriate or not.
Once block billing audits are set up, line items are flagged for the invoice reviewer to be able to view and act on based on your company’s needs. The audit will appear on the
Audits
tab on the Invoice Review page in the
Block Billing
 section.
To configure block billing audits:
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    eBilling & Financial Setup
     section, select
    Invoice rejection & adjustment reasons, audits & guidelines
    .
  3. Select LEDES Audits & Guidelines.
  4. Select
    Block Billing Audits
    .
  5. Next to
    Audit line items for block billing?
     select
    Red flag/Warning
    .
  6. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .
