Manage non-compliant fee audits

Our AI-powered audit helps you identify potential non-compliant fees within your invoices, such as:
  • Administrative and clerical tasks
  • Intra-office communications
  • Travel
When the system detects such a fee, the audit will show in the Audits & Warnings section of the invoice. To differentiate AI-powered audits, you will find a sparkle icon next to them.

Reviewing non-compliant fee audits

  • To view the details of the fee lines flagged as non-compliant, select the audit item itself or scroll down the invoice to the flagged lines.
  • If a non-compliant fee audit is configured as a Red Flag, you'll need to resolve it before you can continue the invoice approval process. You can't proceed with approval until the audit is addressed.
  • If the audit is configured as a Warning, it will still alert you, but you don't need to take action on the audit to continue.
  • On the 1 side of the audit, you'll find the
    AI Insights
     section, which explains the reasoning behind the flag.
  • On the other side of the audit, use the
    Action
     dropdown to choose how to resolve it:
    • Approved
      : Clears the audit and keeps the hours billed by the firm.
    • Reduced
      : Opens a drawer where you can enter the adjusted hours and (optionally) add a comment.
    • Rejected
      : Automatically zeros out the hours. A comment field will also appear (optional).
  • You can provide feedback on the AI model by answering the question
    Is this Admin Billing?
     that appears following the audit. Your feedback helps us improve our AI detection.

View adjustments in the Fees table

If you scroll down to the Fees table, any adjustments made to flagged fee line items will be reflected automatically.

Clearing audits from the Fees table

You can also clear audits directly from the Fees table. Creating a fee line item adjustment with the following reasons will automatically clear the corresponding audit:
  • Fee - Administrative billing
    : Clears Administrative and clerical tasks audit.
  • Fee - Non-compliant billing
    : Clears Travel and Intra-office communications audits.
