Viewing Invoices and Expense Receipts

To view all invoices for a matter, open the matter then click
Invoices
.

View Individual Invoices and Invoice Profiles

When you view a list of invoices from
Invoices
for a matter or on a reports display, Tracker displays the invoice icon, the invoice number and an indicator of whether the invoice is pending your review. The invoice icons indicate LEDES invoices (“L” or “I” for international) or non-LEDES (“O”). Click the icon to review the invoice. Click the invoice number to view the Invoice Profile page. The which will display information about the invoice, such as when it was posted and any company comments.

In a list of invoices, if you see only the invoice number and not an invoice icon, no invoice file was attached to the invoice when posted. Contact the firm and instruct them to attach the invoice file to the invoice.

View Payment Information

Processing and payment status appears in the header section of the invoice.
Company users can also see the check or wire number, payment date and comments under
Invoice
on the Invoice review page. Only Company System Administrators can edit these fields.
Law firm users can see the payment status in the header section of an invoice. In addition, law firm users can run the Extended Data Export of the pre-configured Invoices Report to see complete payment information.

View Marked Up Invoices (Edited During the Approval Process)

During the approval process, company users may edit invoices. If the invoice is a LEDES-formatted invoice, the edited version of the invoice will always be displayed when you click on the invoice icon.
With respect to non-LEDES formatted invoices, however, company users can attach an edited version of the non-LEDES invoice (which is called a marked version). If a marked version has been attached, the marked version will be displayed under
INVOICE ATTACHMENTS
section under Invoice tab of the Invoice page.
To make a line-item adjustment or comment to a non-LEDES invoice:
  1. Under the
    INVOICE ATTACHMENTS
    section, click
    download
    for
    Original Invoice
    .
  2. Save then invoice.
  3. Open the invoice in its source program (for example, Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word).
  4. Make the line-item adjustments and/or comments to the invoice in this file then save the file.
  5. Under the
    INVOICE ATTACHMENTS
    section, click
    upload marked
    for
    Marked Invoice
    line.
  6. Click
    browse
    to locate then select then marked invoice.
  7. Click
    Save
    .

You can't make line item adjustment where the original invoice is in a PDF format.

View an Expense Receipt Attachment

If an expense receipt file was attached with an invoice, a
Supporting Documents
link displays on the Invoice page.
Click
download
to view the expense receipt file. Companies should notify their law firms if expense receipts are required with invoices in Tracker and the threshold amount.
Invoice attachments cannot be viewed from reports. If you are viewing a list of invoices in a reports display, you cannot view the expense receipt attachment from the Report view.
