Editing Date and Event types

The values you specify on the Date/Event types page control the contents of the
Date/Event type
dropdown on the matter's
Events
tab and are used to add date or event to the a matter.

Only Company System Administrators and Tracker Coordinators can edit the list of date and event types. Office System Administrators, and any other company users, cannot edit the company profile. Contact your company's Tracker Coordinator if you would like to request a change to the list of date and event types. You can find the Tracker Coordinator's name in the bottom right corner of every page in Legal Tracker.
To open the Date/Event Types page:
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. Under
    Matters Setup
    , click
    Date/Event Types.

Adding a date or Event Type

  1. On the top toolbar, click
    New Value.
  2. Enter the name of the new value in the
    Value
    box.
  3. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Adding Multiple Date or Event Types

Follow the instructions to add multiple values at one time:
  1. On the top toolbar, click
    New Multiple Values.
  2. In the
    Values
    box, enter the values you want to add. Make sure you put only one value per line. For example, the following is correct: DepositionMediation DateSettlement DateTrial DateBut the following is not correct: Deposition, Mediation Date, Settlement Date, Trial Date
  3. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Edit a Date or Event Type

  1. The screen will show the existing values in the drop-down list. Click the value that you want to edit.
  2. Type the new name in the
    Value
    box.
  3. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Editing a date or event type value updates existing objects. If you edit a value in the event/date drop-down list, it automatically changes the value in the dates and events that have already been created.

Deactivating a Date or Event Type

  1. The screen shows the values that are currently defined in the drop-down lists. Select the name of the value you would like to deactivate.
  2. Uncheck the
    Active
    box.
  3. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Deactivating a date/event type does not update existing data. If you deactivate a date/event, it does not automatically cause any dates or events that have already been created to disappear. To change the date/event type in any existing date/events, you must edit the individual date/events.
