Open and Closed Matters

Matters have two different phases: open and closed.
Open matters are available for full processing and input, such as posting a document for review. When a matter is created, its default status is open.
Closed matters can be accessed, and all information in a closed matter can be viewed. Closed matters are available in the system along with all of their documents and information in case they need to be accessed or reopened. Closed matter information can also be included in reports. When a matter is closed, the company user closing the matter can specify the number of days after the matter is closed that information can be edited and invoices can be posted. Only company users can convert an open matter into a closed matter.
