Matter Profile Fields

Your company configures the fields that are displayed in each matter. Specifically, your company's Tracker Coordinator creates a list of Matter Types (Templates), and for each Matter Type chooses the fields that are to be shown. In addition to which fields are shown, your company's Tracker Coordinator selects which fields firms users can view and edit, which fields are required, and when they are required. Contact your company's Tracker Coordinator if you have questions about the Matter Types or matter fields that have been selected. You company's Tracker Coordinator's name is shown at the bottom of each page in Tracker. You must view the matter profile of each matter to see the fields that the company has activated.

What Fields Can Company Users Edit?

In general, company users can access and edit all matter profile fields. However, if a matter is an external matter that has a lead firm that is live (in other words, connected to the matter), the following fields are editable only by the lead firm:
  • Firm Exposure Estimate
    (litigation/dispute matters only)
  • Firm Recovery Estimate
    (litigation/dispute matters only)
  • Firm Cost Estimate
  • Firm Revenue Estimate

What Fields Can Law Firm Users Edit?

This varies depending on the configuration of your system. However, you can view which fields that a firm can edit for a particular matter by doing the following:
  1. Select
    Matters
    >
     Matter list
    in the left navigation.
  2. Locate and open the matter.
  3. Select the lead outside counsel (or other firm user) in the drop-down labeled
    View Page as Seen by Other User
    , then click
    Edit Mode
    in the second drop down (or click View Mode if you want to see what the law firm user can edit), and then click Go.
