Working with Legal Hold Matters

A legal hold is an order to not destroy information or paper documents that may be relevant to a legal case. When there are legal holds associated with a matter, a notification appears on the matter's
Profile
 tab.
You can use the
Legal Holds
 tab to add legal hold matters and link or unlink legal holds to an existing matter.
Adding a Legal Hold Matter
To add a linked legal hold matter:
  1. Select Matters > Matters List from the left navigation.
  2. Open the matter.
  3. Select the
    Legal Holds
     tab.
  4. Select the
    Add
    icon .
  5. Click
    OK
     to confirm that you want to add the linked legal hold matter.
Linking a Matter to a legal hold matter
  1. Select
    Matters > Matters List
     from the left navigation.
  2. Select the hyperlinked name of the matter you want to work with.
  3. Select the Legal Holds tab.
  4. Select the
    Link
    icon .
  5. On the Select Legal Hold Matter list, select the matter you want to link.
  6. Select the
    Link to Matter
    button.
Unlinking a Linked Legal Hold Matter
  1. Select
    Matters > Matters List
     from the left navigation.
  2. Select the hyperlinked name of the matter you want to work with.
  3. Select the
    Legal Holds
     tab.
  4. In the
    Legal Hold Matter Name
     column, select the matter you want to unlink.
  5. Select the
    Unlink
    icon .
Exterro linked matters
Exterro linked matters show the following information:
  • Acknowledgment status:
     Percentage, number of acknowledgments received and sent
  • Questionnaires completed:
     Percentage, number of questionnaires completed and sent
  • Contact information:
     Name and email address of the contact for the Exterro matter
OpenText Linked Matters
OpenText Legal Hold linked matters show the following information:
  • Acknowledgment status:
     Percentage, number of acknowledgments received and sent
  • Matter-level legal hold reporting is available with the
    Legal Holds
     export feature.
  • System-level legal hold reporting is available with Tracker's Report Builder (all legal hold fields reportable) and a Matters and Legal Holds preconfigured report.
