You can attach a file to a new note, or you can edit an existing note to attach a file.
The maximum file size you can upload is
10 MB
, and the file upload cannot take longer than 10 minutes.
Acceptable file formats
There is no restriction on the types of files you can attach. However, you should only attach files that are in a common file format that is generally readable or viewable by other users. (Tracker is similar to email: the recipient can view the file only if the proper program for that file type is installed.) The following table lists some common file types.

Displaying the Attached File in a List on the Matter's Documents Page or the Library Page
By default, a file that is attached to a note is not displayed independently in the list of documents associated with a matter or in the list of all documents on the Library page. However, after you save the file as an attachment, you can change that setting.
Open the note from the Status page of the matter.
Click view/edit details next to the name of the attachment.
