Creating timekeeper rate review assignment rules

The application includes a feature that lets you assign pending timekeeper rates that meet certain conditions to specific company users for review.
Required role | Tracker Coordinators and Backup Tracker Coordinators, and designated timekeeper rate reviewers, can create timekeeper rate assignment rules.
  1. Select
    Financial
    ,
    Rates
    , then
    Pending rates
    in the left navigation panel.
  2. On the toolbar, select
    Assignment rules
    .
  3. Any assignment rules that have already been created are listed on the Timekeeper rate assignment rules window. To add a new rule, select the
    Add
    button.
    tip
To edit an existing assignment rule, select the
    EDIT
button to the right of the rule.
  4. Next to
    Rate Type
, select the button for the category of rate to assign.
  5. Next to
    Rate Reviewer To Assign
    click the
    Select
link. This is where you define who will review the rates. You have 2 primary options for assigning a reviewer:
    1. Specific User: If you choose this option, a list of potential rate reviewers opens. Select
      Select
next to the name of the person who will be the rate reviewer assigned to this rule.
      note
The assignment rules allow you to designate any company users as a rate reviewer, even if they aren't ordinarily a designated rate reviewer for the company.
    2. Lead Company Person (LCP): If you select this option, you won't see a user picker. Instead, the system will dynamically assign the review to the individual who is designated as the "Lead Company Person"on each specific matter to which the timekeeper's rates are associated.
      important
If the timekeeper's rates aren't associated with a specific matter, or if the designated "Lead Company Person" role is not set for a particular matter, this assignment rule won’t resolve to a user. Consequently, the pending rates for that timekeeper or matter may not appear for review, as the system can't identify the responsible LCP. This ensures that the LCP role is tied directly to matter-specific responsibilities.
  6. In the
    Conditions
section, select the conditions that will trigger the assignment rule. For example, you could assign a particular reviewer to be responsible for reviewing all rates from a particular firm.
  7. At the bottom of the page, select one of the following:
    • Save & ignore existing rates
to apply the rule to future rates only.
    • Preview existing rates
if you would like to assign currently pending rates that meet the conditions of your rule to the designated user.
  8. Select
Save & apply to existing rates
