Create or edit a law firm budget

You'll need a Matter Editor or Matter Administrator role in your company. A direct matter participant and their delegates in a law firm may also be able to create or edit a law firm budget.
A law firm budget is an estimate of spending on a matter. It can be a fiscal-year budget (monthly, quarterly, or annually), or a phased budget for patent or litigation matters.

Your company will have configured law firm budgets at 3 levels in Legal Tracker:
Budget and Accrual System
,
Matter Types System
, and
Matter/Budget Options
.
  1. Select
    Matter list
    under
    Matters
    .
  2. Select the matter.
  3. With the matter open, select the
    Budget
    tab.
  4. Select
    Edit current budget
    .
  5. Enter your budget.

    For fiscal-year budgets, you need to complete the
    Total Matter Budget
    and
    Budget Spreadsheet
    .
    For phased budgets, you need to enter the
    Start Month
    and
    Year
    of phase 1, and the number of months for each phase.
  6. Select
    Save & close
    .
