Documents, Contracts, and SOPs

Document Types

You can upload a file in almost any format to Tracker as a document or a contract. You can also upload emails. Tracker categorizes files into one of four document types, each with a unique document profile that captures essential details about the document.
Some file formats require special viewers; we recommend that you use standard Microsoft Office file types.
In general, the only file types you can't upload to Tracker are those that Tracker has identified as potentially harmful; for example, files that may contain harmful executable content.
note
  • Maximum upload size is 50MB.
  • Uploads that take longer than 10 minutes will time out, regardless of file size. This is typically an issue only with slower Internet connections, like dial-up.

Document profiles

When you save a document for a matter, Tracker creates a document profile. The profile contains details about the document, and is composed of a header section and other sections as appropriate for the document type. The profile connects document details with the matter, which enables features like access security and review by other Tracker users.
