Finding Tracker Users
Before you add a new Legal Tracker user, you must check to be sure that they are not already set up. You can search your company's users, users in the firms you have worked with, or in the Tracker Worldwide Directory of firms.
- SelectUsers, thenUser listfrom the left navigation.
- On the toolbar, selectSearch for user.
- In theType/Status of userarea, select an option to specify how you want to search:
- Check theCompany Userscheckbox to search the list of Tracker users in your company.
- Check theOur Firmscheckbox to search the firms that are already defined in your database
- Check the Tracker Worldwide Directory checkbox
to search the directory for firms you have not already used.
- Use the fields in theUser Namesection to help you find the specific user you are searching for.tipIf you are searching for the specific user's name, it is generally recommended that you search for a first few letters of the user's last name, which helps to minimize accidental misspellings.
- Use the optionalPractice Areadropdown if you want to limit your search to firms in a specific practice area.
- Use the optional fields in theLocationarea to look for firms in a specific geographic area. Click theSelectbutton and select the country in the list. If the law firm is in the United States, you can further limit your search by state. Use the dropdown that appears to specify the state.
- SelectSearch.
When You Can't Find a Particular User
If you cannot find a user, the reason may be that they have been deactivated.
