Upload a Timekeeper Rate Sheet File

Required role:
Firm Administrators, Firm Office Administrators and firm users who have billing permissions can upload rate sheet files. Company System Administrators can upload rate sheet files on behalf of firms.
You can usually gather most of the required timekeeper rate information from your time and billing software.
To upload a timekeeper rate sheet file:
  1. Click
    Billing
    in the left navigation.
  2. Click
    Timekeepers
    .
  3. Click
    Post rate sheet
    in the toolbar.
  4. Select
    Upload a file (Upload one file)
    then click
    Next>>
    .
  5. Click
    Browse
    to select the rate sheet file you want to upload.
  6. Select the file type. The file type selections include:
    • No type specified
    • CSV (comma separated value)
    • Text file (tab delimited)
    • Text file ("pipe" delimited)
  7. Set the effective date for the proposed rates.
    note
    Tracker does not send a notification if the client company changes the effective date.
  8. Click
    Next>>
    . One of the following occurs:
    • If there are errors in the file, Tracker displays a list of errors.
    • If there are no errors, Tracker displays a
      Rate Analysis
      table that includes comparison data about the timekeepers. The
      Rate Analysis
      table displays information for missing timekeepers by default. Your client company will also see this information,

      The
      Rate Analysis
      table is not available after you submit this rate sheet file. If you want to view the results again or share them, take a screen capture or copy the information into another file.
  9. Click
    Edit
    if you want to edit the information in the table.
  10. Click
    Next
    when your review is complete.
  11. Click
    Submit
    to upload the itmekeeper rate sheet. Tracker notifies the client company that the rate sheet is ready for review.

    If your client company adjusts or rejects a rate sheet, you will receive an email message. You may want to contact your client company to negotiate the rates. If your company agrees to renegotiate the rates, follow the steps listed above to submit a revised rate sheet.
