Migrate FileCabinet CS data to a new location on the Virtual Client Office servers
Complete the following steps only if we tell you to back up your FileCabinet CS data.
- Back up FileCabinet CS data
- Create an FCSbackups folder on your local hard drive.
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Double-click theC:\ drive.
- SelectFile,New, thenFolder.
- Name the folderFCSbackups.
- In the navigation pane, selectApplications, then the FileCabinet CS icon to open the application.noteIf these items aren't available, you don't have access to applications through Virtual Client Office.
- In FileCabinet CS, selectFile, thenBackup.
- Double-click a drawer or drawers to move them to the Selected pane, or useSelect All.noteThe open drawer (if any) displays in the Selected pane automatically.
- In the Backup data group area, selectModify Backup Location, go toC:\FCSbackups, and selectOK.noteC$ on Client (V:) is your local C:\ drive in the Virtual Client Office environment.
- Close FileCabinet CS.importantWe need to change your Virtual Client Office configuration before you restore your backed-up data into FileCabinet CS. We'll let you know when we've made the necessary changes. Don't restore your data until you hear from us.
- Restore data into FileCabinet CS
- After we tell you we’ve made the necessary changes to your Virtual Client Office configuration, open FileCabinet CS and selectFile, thenRestore.
- In the Restore Data group area, selectChange Restore Location, then go to theFCSbackupsfolder on your local C:\ drive.noteC$ on Client (V:) is your local C:\ drive in the Virtual Client Office environment.
- Double-click 1 or more drawers to move them to the Selected pane, or useSelect All.
- Make sure theAutomatically create folderscheckbox is marked to recreate the folder structure of each drawer.
- SelectRestore.
- Set up FileCabinet CS
- To restore drawer families, selectHelp,Repair, thenRebuild Drawer Familiesin the Drawers tab.
- SelectSetup, thenSystem Configurationand change settings as needed for your company.noteIf your company uses advanced security, you'll need to set up the advanced security again.
- Each FileCabinet CS user should selectSetup, thenUser Preferencesand make any necessary changes.
You're now ready to work in FileCabinet CS. Treat Virtual Client Office FileCabinet CS like a new installation of FileCabinet CS.
