Refusal to Write Notice

The
Refusal to Write Notice
option displays only when a policy number has not been entered. If a policy number has been assigned for a policy then cancellation of a new policy is the proper action to take.
A
Refusal to Write
notice is a courtesy notice in many states. In states where a Refusal to Write notice is not required, you will see a message that says
This is a courtesy notice, it is not required by the state
. This notice is used to notify a customer that coverage will not be written or issued by the Insurance Carrier. A Refusal to Write notice may only be used prior to the actual issuance of a policy. This notice type is not available for use once a policy has been issued and a policy number has been assigned. If a policy has been issued, a cancellation notice is the correct notice to be generated.
  1. Is this policy regulated displays the regulated status of the policy and is a pre-filled field. It cannot be modified.
  2. Select the appropriate
    Reason Code
from the drop-down list or scroll down to the desired entry and press the
    Tab
    key.
    note
Reason Codes are specific to policy and notice types and are determined by ODEN®.
