Protect a template

Prepare all templates during the protection process before you use them in ONESOURCE DataFlow.
  1. Open the DataFlow Template in excel.
  2. Select
    Data Collect
    Protect
    .
  3. Select the following to begin the diagnostic report:
    1. Select
      Yes
       to begin the diagnostic report. DataFlow then evaluates the template for common errors. If DataFlow finds errors, it stops the protection process and shows the errors. If there are no errors, it shows
      No Errors found
      .
    2. Select
      No
       if you don't want to begin the diagnostic report. DataFlow will continue the protection process without checking for errors.
  4. Select the following to prevent users from selecting locked cells:
    1. Select
      Yes
       to prevent users from selecting locked cells. This lets the data provider go to open cells only.
    2. Select
      No
       to let the user select any cell in the template.
  5. Go to the preferred sheet and cell where you want the data provider to begin.
  6. Save the Excel file.
