Add columns
Add Columns let designers specify a DC Range that a user can expand by adding columns at the right edge of the selected DC Range. This feature is available for Excel add-in and web DataFlow.
When designing a DataFlow template, you can set the
Add Columns
function while:
  • adding the DC range
  • or after creating it through

To be able to add columns in the Request, the DC Range must be marked while designing the template.
Add columns to a DC Range
  1. Open the request in
    Excel
    (or the
    Web UI
, if available in your environment).
  2. Select any cell
    inside the DC Range
    you want to expand.
  3. Select
    Add Columns
    .
  4. Choose how many columns to add (
    1 to 10
    ).
  5. Verify to apply.
  6. The columns will be added to the right side of the DC Range. Any content on the right will shift right of the existing range.
Important limitations and rules
  • This functionality is only available for DC Ranges.
  • You can only add columns to the right end of the DC Range.
  • Formulas and formatting will be copied from the last column in the range.
  • Formulas will update their column reference automatically based on the new layout.
  • You must have at least one or two columns in the range.
  • Merged cells are granted only if consistent across rows. The merge pattern must be the same for each row of the column.
  • Avoid overlapping DC Ranges. Adding columns to a range will shift part of the sheet while the overlapping ranges won’t move the same way.
  • Content previous or following the DC Range won’t shift.

Closed issues

  • Templates and Status templates grid will now maintain user preferences (filters, page size, sorting order, column selection, and order.) after refreshing, across tabs/windows, and across sessions.
  • An issue that caused an alternate Tax type to show blank while editing a Request has been fixed now.
  • An issue that caused Import to fail when empty formatted rows were present in the import file, is now fixed.

Known issue

  • Updating an entity name as a new version is affecting existing records.
