Import data

You can import data to use in the estimated payments system by 2 methods:
  • Download a system defined template and import the file, or
  • Use the Excel Add-In tool (purchased separately)

Use an import template

  1. Go to
    Import
    , and then
    Template
    .
  2. Select
    Import Type
    , either
    Data Entry,
    Data Source Analysis Override
    or
    Common State
    .
  3. Select the
    Year
    .
  4. Select
    Federal
    or
    State
    .
  5. Select the
    Amount Type
    , either
    Actual
    or
    Forecast
    .
  6. Select the
    Time Period
    .
  7. Select
    Download Template
    .
    note
    The company identifiers include Company Number, Entity Name, and Entity Type. The Company Number is the only identifier needed if the company number can uniquely identify the entity apart from all other entities.
  8. To import one file for multiple entities, enter the company number for each entity on the row that contains the first Entry Item Name only.

Import data using Excel Add-In

  1. Go to
    Import
    , and select
    Excel Add-In
    .
  2. Select the applicable version to download.
  3. Or, you can select
    Templates
    to download a file that is already mapped.
  4. Once you determine which import method to use and a source file is ready to import, select
    Import
    .
  5. Select the type of data you are importing.
  6. Browse to the file location and then select
    Next
    to begin step 1 of 3 of the process.
  7. After importing data, select
    Log
    to review the status of previous imports.
  8. Select the
    Year
    and
    Type
    to display log information. You can filter and sort each column.
  9. The log shows a status of the following:
    • Successful
    • Failed
      - The reason appears in
      Import Type
      .
    • Completed with Errors
      - The reason appears in the
      Import Type
      column.
