Import data
You can import data to use in the estimated payments system by 2 methods:
- Download a system defined template and import the file, or
- Use the Excel Add-In tool (purchased separately)
Use an import template
- Go toImport, and thenTemplate.
- SelectImport Type, eitherData Entry,Data Source Analysis OverrideorCommon State.
- Select theYear.
- SelectFederalorState.
- Select theAmount Type, eitherActualorForecast.
- Select theTime Period.
- SelectDownload Template.noteThe company identifiers include Company Number, Entity Name, and Entity Type. The Company Number is the only identifier needed if the company number can uniquely identify the entity apart from all other entities.
- To import one file for multiple entities, enter the company number for each entity on the row that contains the first Entry Item Name only.
Import data using Excel Add-In
- Go toImport, and selectExcel Add-In.
- Select the applicable version to download.
- Or, you can selectTemplatesto download a file that is already mapped.
- Once you determine which import method to use and a source file is ready to import, selectImport.
- Select the type of data you are importing.
- Browse to the file location and then selectNextto begin step 1 of 3 of the process.
- After importing data, selectLogto review the status of previous imports.
- Select theYearandTypeto display log information. You can filter and sort each column.
- The log shows a status of the following:
- Successful
- Failed- The reason appears inImport Type.
- Completed with Errors- The reason appears in theImport Typecolumn.
