Manage filing groups

Manage consolidated and separate filing groups as needed. You can delete groups, remove and add jurisdictions, and add entities to filing groups.

Add jurisdictions to filing groups

  1. Select an existing filing group.
  2. Go to
    Filing Groups
    , and then
    Jurisdictions
    .
  3. Select the desired jurisdiction(s).
  4. Select
    Assign Tax Law
    to assign a user-created tax law.
  5. Select
    Next
    to see a list of existing entities included in the filing group or
    Finish
    to complete the process.

Add entities in filing groups

  1. Select an existing filing group.
  2. Go to
    Entities
    .
  3. To exclude an entity from the selected filing group, de-select the entity.
  4. Before selecting
    OK
    , scroll to the right to see the default tax law assigned for each entity. If you have created a custom tax law in the
    Tax Law
    panel, you can make an assignment to entities in the
    Entities
    screen.
  5. Remove the selection to exclude an entity from a filing group.
  6. To add a new entity which doesn't already exist, to a filing group, create the entity on the
    Filing Groups
    screen or on the
    Entities
    screen. If you have ONESOURCE Income Tax, the new entity will also be created in the Income Tax product. This doesn't create a related binder. You can also add other existing entities that are available, but not already included, in the selected filing group.
