Download templates

The templates download contains mapped worksheets of all released Excel Add-In import targets. Tax Return templates are available by tax type (1040, 1120, and 1065) for the current tax year. Each Tax Return Excel Workbook contains a mapped target on separate worksheets. You can use the mapped worksheets for import or to copy.
  1. There are a couple of ways to download the template files.
    1. Go to the Help and Support landing page for your product. Select
      Data Imports and Exports
      , then select
      Download
      for the template you need.
    2. In the RS Browser, go to
      Returns Processing
      , then
      Import/Export
      , then
      Excel Add- in
      , then
      Templates
      .
  2. A dialog box at the bottom of the screen asks
    What do you want to do with exceladdintemplates.zip?
  3. Select
    Open
    ,
    Save
    , or
    Save As
    . Browse to the file location and save the zip file.
  4. You can
    Open
     the file in the downloaded folder,
    Open folder
    , or
    View Downloads
    .
  5. Double-click the setup.exe file.
  6. Select the template to open in Excel.
  7. Select the forms needed from the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
  8. Enter the import information into the Excel template.
