GC Spreadsheet Upload

The
GC Spreadsheet Upload
screen can be used to input product data from a Microsoft Excel file upload that matches the template. This screen can be opened by clicking
Product Spreadsheet Upload
in the link options of the
Edit Classification
screen. The
Edit Classification
screen can be opened by clicking it from the main
Classification
menu.

Download Excel Template

You can download the product spreadsheet upload template by clicking
Download Excel Template
. After doing that, the template is downloaded from the system and can be saved and opened on your local drive.

Fill in the Product Spreadsheet Upload Template

When you open the Excel template you will see three tabs in the bottom of the screen
UsrGC
,
FieldNote
and
DDL
.
UsrGC tab
Click
Enable Editing
to be able to edit the Excel file.
Enter the field columns. The fields highlighted in blue are required fields and cannot be left blank.
FieldNote Tab
The
FieldNote
tab provides a Chinese explanation for each field as a reference.
DDL Tab (Drop-Down List)
The
DDL
tab provides the drop-down value list for those columns which are defined as
dropdown
type under the
UsrGC
tab. During implementation, you will need to provide the drop-down value list to the Thomson Reuters Professional Services team.

Product Spreadsheet Upload Process

Click on the
Choose File
button and select an Excel file from the local drive that matches the template parameters.
Once the Excel file has been selected, the file name will appear on the screen.
Refresh the page and you will see your file listed in the
Process Flow Execution Status
grid.

Upload and Import Data

To import the Excel file data into the master product database, click
Upload and Import Data
. Once the spreadsheet had been successfully uploaded into the system, a system message will appear on the screen.
You will receive an e-mail notification regarding the success or failure of the global classification data upload.

Process Flow Execution Status

You can view the product spreadsheets you have uploaded in the
Process Flow Execution Status
grid. Click
Refresh
to reload the page and view possible updates.
Update Options
Meaning
User Name
The username of the person who uploaded the spreadsheet.
File Name
The name of the excel spreadsheet file.
Effective Date
The date the spreadsheet was uploaded in the format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM
Process Flow Name
The default process flow name is “CN_GCSS_Upload”.
Status
The status of the spreadsheet can be:
  • Running
  • Complete
Process Flow Summary
If there are errors in the spreadsheet upload, you will see a warning message on this column.
Error Count
If there are errors in the spreadsheet upload, you will the number indicating the quantity of errors found on this upload. Click the number on the column to
open the Spreadsheet Upload Validation Errors
pop-up where you can view and extract the validation messages associated to this spreadsheet. Spreadsheet validation error messages are kept for up to 120 days and deleted past that period.
You can refine your search by selecting a date on the
Apply Filter
line or using the filter icon next to the column headers on the grid. There are multiple filter options, you can select the one that fits your preference the best.
