HS Number Validation
If activated, the HS Number validation feature will automatically validate any manually entered HS Numbers against ONESOURCE Global Trade Content.

In order for HS Number Validation to be turned on, the client company must also have purchased ONESOURCE Global Trade Content. If this product is not purchased, data validations can be added to ensure the number entered in the
HSNum
field is at least the appropriate length. If you entered an invalid HS Number, the system will notify you that the HS Number is invalid.
The
System Messages
feature at the top of the screen contains a series of automatic messages from the system. These messages provide you with a count of HS Numbers identified as invalid.
Other field controls and data validation features are available and can be added to the Edit Classification screen during implementation. These features can be used to further customize the solution and limit access to what you can see or do on a specific screen based on security levels. All validation messages will display at the top of the screen in a collapsible
Validation Messages
section.
Examples of these optional features include:
Optional Features | Meaning |

Read-Only Fields | Lower access users cannot change the contents of the specified field. |
Hidden Fields | Lower access users will not see the specified field. |
Formatted Fields | The field only accepts a specific character length, numeric value, and/or Date/Time values. |
Textboxes & Drop-Downs | Data can be entered freeform or via a drop-down of valid options. |
