The functionality described in this section is an enhanced, more efficient version of the Trade Lane Analyzer: Import and Export section which is still valid and available to you. Both screens will coexist, and we will let you know once we have any further updates

:- Go to theAnalyzermenu.
- SelectTrade Lane Analyzer - New.
Choose the Correct View: Import/Export
By default, when you open this screen, you will see the export view.
If you need to change to the import view, select

Analyze Charges and Regulation
To analyze export and import charges or regulations between countries.
- Use theSelect Exporting/Importing Countrydropdown menu to choose a country. This menu contains all countries listed by Global Trade Content.
- InGlobal HS Number, type the specific HS number or relevant keywords to find the data you want to analyze.
- InSelect Destination/Source Countries, enter up to 10 countries from the dropdown list.
tip
You can type the 2-character ISO Country Codes separated by commas and then select “Search for…” for a quicker selection

The entered countries will appear in a box under the
Select Destination Countries
.As you enter information in
Select Exporting/Importing Country
, Global HS Number
, and Select Destination/Source Countries
, the table will automatically update to show the corresponding data.- UseSelect HS Numberto open the popup and check the boxes of the HS Numbers you want to use for the analysis. This step is mandatory for import view and optional for export view.
- SelectReturn to Inputsto close the pop-up.
You will notice the
Select HS Number
link replaced with the selected HS Number.- SelectAnalyze.
- SelectResetto start over.
Results
After selecting
Analyze
, a table will appear showing the export/import data for the specified goods. This includes details for exporting goods to the Destination Country or importing goods from the Source Countries.The results will show as follows:Column | Description |

Type | Shows key regulation information needed for each trade lane, such as Duty Rates, Controls, etc. |
Trade lanes, such as “CH>US”, “CN>BR”, etc. | Shows the result data for each of the trade lanes that you selected previously. For example, trade lanes like CH>US indicate the route from China to the United States, and CN>BR denotes the route from China to Brazil. |
The following table describes the regulatory information you will see in the column “Type” after selecting "Analyze" If no data is available for a specific field, "N/A" (not applicable) will appear.
Type | Definition |

Tariff Schedule | Shows the tariff schedule used for each country combination. |
Import/Export HS Number | Displays the individual HS Number(s) for each country combination.

Sanctions | Uses information from ONESOURCE Global Trade’s Denied Party Screening module.

Main Duty | Shows the main duty rate per country combination. |
Potential Preferential Duty Rate | Appears if preferential duties are available, including links to the duty rate and the name of the preferential program. |
Other Duty | Appears if other Duty Rates are available, including links to any additional duty that an exporter could incur. |
ADD/CVD Rate | Appears if anti-dumping or countervailing duty rates apply, including links. |
VAT/GST Charges Rates | Shows a range number from lowest to highest if a VAT or GST rate applies. |
Export/Import Controls | Shows the numbers of HS-specific and country-level controls available.

Export/Import Commercial Documents | Shows the number of conditional and mandatory documents available.

Importing Country Threat | Shows information from Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), including:

Export/Import Volumes | Shows the Destination/Source country’s currency. The year indicates the most recent year that a government source published import/export volume information. |
Possible actions:
- Select a link to open the corresponding additional details pop-up.
- SelectShow Moreto expand some of the data available in the cells.
- SelectExpand Allto see all rates.
- SelectCollapse allto hide all rates.
Data in cells can have colored circles, according to the description below.
Color | Definition |
|---|---|
Green | Top third of countries/No known sanctions. |
Yellow | Middle third of countries/Sanction may apply. |
Red | Bottom third of countries. |
Manage Results
This section describes possible actions you may want to take after analyzing import and export changes and regulations in
Trade Lane Analyzer - New
. The following buttons are in the results grid. Use them to:Button | Action |

Recent Searches | Select “Recent Searches” to show the “Search History Detail” pop-up, which lists all searches you have previously analyzed and searches shared by users within the same partner. Select “View” to open the results grid for that recent search or “Delete” to remove a recent search from the history. |
Manage Searches | This is not available at the moment. |
Save Current Search | After selecting “Analyze,” use “Save Current Search” to store the results data under a name of your choice. This is especially beneficial when you search for the same criteria multiple times and do not wish to enter the data each time. |
Export Results
You can generate an Excel spreadsheet or a PDF document containing the results of your analysis. To do so:
