Global Tariffs Screen Overview

The
Global Tariffs
 screen combines multiple ways of viewing tariff schedule data and allows the user to select how and which data to display. If the tariff schedule or HS Number were not preset, these must be manually selected. Not specifying an HS Number (to chapter, header, subheader, or fully qualified level) will cause the whole tariff to display.

Gridview

The
GridView
 allows you to see all HS Numbers in the tariff tree, or to see only the Fully Qualified HS Numbers. If the selected HS Number is not a 12-digit HS Number, you can also choose to view all parent numbers associated with their selection.
If the selected HS Number is a 12-digit HS Number, you will see additional information (if applicable):
  • A
    Country Level Charges
     tab.
  • A
    Country Level Controls
     tab.
  • A
    Duties
     icon that, if clicked, will open the
    Global Tariffs Detail
     pop-up with the
    Duty
     tab opened by default.
  • A
    Controls
     icon that, if clicked, will open the
    Global Tariffs Detail
     pop-up with the
    Controls
     tab opened by default.
  • A
    WCO
     icon that, if clicked, will open the
    Global Tariffs Detail
     pop-up with the
    WCO Notes
     tab opened by default.
A new search results tab is created each time
Search
 is clicked. To open a different search, click its corresponding search tab at the top of the results grid. To remove a search results tab, click “
X
”.
To view parent numbers on a search, uncheck
Fully Qualified Numbers Only
.
If the search was performed on a more detailed number, check
Include Parent Numbers
 to see the parent HS.
If
Search
 is clicked without selecting an HS Number, HS Numbers related to the keyword will appear in the search results.

Country Level Charges & Country Level Controls

If a country’s government publishes regulations unassociated with specific HS Numbers, this information will appear in the
Country Level Charges
 and/or
Country Level Controls
 tabs.
Each table has data hyperlinked to the
Charges Detail
 and
Controls Detail/Agency Detail
 screens respectively. These links are described in greater detail in the
Global Tariffs Detail
 screen section of the User Guide.

Languages

Some tariff descriptions can be viewed in other languages. However, only three (3) languages can be selected at one time. Clicking a fourth language will not yield any results.
The
Customize Search
 feature can be used to select other types of data (e.g. additional regulations) to display in the search results table. To use this feature, click
Customize Search
.
The additional categories listed below may be viewed in the search results with a particular HS Number. These are subject to availability in the selected country and your ONESOURCE Global Trade Content subscription.
  • Header
    : Effective Date, Expiration Date, Unit of Measure, Associated ECN numbers
  • Controls
    : Import/Export
  • Main Duty
    : All Countries, EU, All Third Countries, ERGA OMNES, etc.
  • Other Main Duty
  • Other Charges
    : VAT/GST, Import Charges, Export Charges
  • Quotas
To filter the
Customize Search
 options, choose a country of origin from the drop-down shown below.
Some HS Numbers may also have quotas or applicable preferential rates. In these scenarios, it is possible to customize the search to load applicable quotas and preferential rates by checking the corresponding boxes.
Additionally, previous searches can be reopened by clicking
Recent Searches
, then choosing a previous search.
