Notes
The
Notes
tab displays chapter notes applicable for a selected HS Number. This tab is divided into four sub-tabs. Tabs where data is unavailable do not show on the screen.Standard Notes
The
Standard Notes
sub-tab displays any chapter notes that apply to this chapter across all tariff schedules.It is also possible to export these notes to Microsoft Excel. This can be done by clicking the
Export to Excel
button.
Specific Notes
The
Specific Notes
sub-tab displays any notes or chapter notes that apply to this tariff schedule only. These are sometimes referred to as Additional Chapter Notes.It is also possible to export these notes to Microsoft Excel. This can be done by clicking the
Export to Excel
button.
Country Level Notes
The
Country Level Notes
sub-tab displays notes not associated with any specific HS Number by the governing authorities.It is also possible to export these notes to Microsoft Excel. This can be done by clicking the
Export to Excel
button.
If there are no notes available for this tariff schedule or this HS Number, the table is minimized to display the note: Global Trade Content does not have any ‘Country Level Notes’ associated with this HS Number.

Legislation
The
Legislation
sub-tab displays the legislation legal text for the selected country and a specific document. It contains links to detailed information regarding the selected legislature and is available only for select countries.
There are cases when notes are available only in the native language under a specific sub-tab. In these instances, you would have to select the sub-tab, click the link to change the pop-up language culture, and view the notes in the native language.

This can also be accomplished by changing the pop-up language culture in the top left corner of the screen.

The grids in the
Standard Notes, Specific Notes
, and Country Level Notes
sub-tabs are laid out exactly the same on the screen:Sub-tabs | Description |

Note Number | Indicates the number assigned to note from government agency. |
Note Text | Displays the note text. |
Attachment | Indicates if there is an attachment for the note.
Note: This screen presently does not display attachments. This is planned as a future enhancement for ONESOURCE Global Trade Content. |
The grid on the
Legislation
sub-tab has only one field, which lists the type of legislation and links to the Legal Text Detail
screen. Legal Text Detail
has the hyperlinked Table of Contents at the top of the screen and a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen to allow you to move faster to the portion of the legislature they wish to examine.
Like the Controls tab, the
Notes
tab offers Hide/Show Full Note Text
, filtering, lists that can be extracted to Excel, and sorting options.Sorting options | Description |

Hide/Show Full Note Text | This option becomes available if the note text exceeds 120 characters. The note will appear truncated by default with an option to unhide the rest of the text.
To view full text for all notes on selected sub-tab at once, click Show Full Text for all Notes checkbox. |
Filtering | Any table with a filter drop-down can filter text below by a variety of controls (Contains, Does Not Contain, etc.).
To return to seeing all notes, click No Filter or clear the Filter. |
Sorting | Columns can be sorted numerically or alphabetically if an arrow is displayed next to the column name (e.g. Note Type, Note Number). |

Wherever notes are available in multiple languages, these can be reviewed by clicking on the hyperlinked language of choice.
