Decision Trees (Subtrees)
The
Decision Trees
dock contains a library of smaller Decision Trees that can be created and used repeatedly as parts of larger Decision Trees. Subtrees consist of a series of questions and results. Trees created within the same Decision Tree category will be visible within the Decision Tree node panel on the right side of the Decision Tree Editor
screen.To open a subtree:
- Open theDecision Treesdock and review the list of available trees.
- Click on the name of the smaller Decision Tree.

Subtrees can be pulled into the tree being edited.
To open up the edit features, click on the
Edit
icon on the main Decision Tree on the left to open the Decision Tree
pop-up.
The
Add subtrees by reference
setting determines whether the subtree will expand once dragged into the tree being edited. To enable this feature, check the
Add subtrees by reference
box.
Adding a subtree by reference will only display one tree-colored node that reflects the question structure within the subtree.

Adding a subtree into a tree without the
Add subtrees by reference
setting enabled will expand all nodes within the subtree as part of the main tree.
