Moving Items from Docks to Decision Tree
The left side of the
Decision Tree Editor
screen is primarily used to view and edit the structure of the Decision Tree. The right side of the screen is primarily used for viewing the docks which contain a library of items that can potentially be added to the tree. These items can be pulled from their respective docks into the Decision Tree using a click-drag-drop functionality. Each item type (Subtree, Question, Result, etc.) will have different requirements as to where it can be placed in the tree.The

screen prevents you from attaching a node to an invalid location.Example 1: Correct Transfer of Item to Decision Tree
In the example below, the user properly attached an item (a result) to an element in the Decision Tree. Note how
Yes
is highlighted before the user “drops” the new item.
If the transfer was successful, the item (Question, Result, etc.) will appear in the Decision Tree.
Example 2: Moving Multiple Items to Decision Tree
Multiple items can be dragged and dropped into a Decision Tree in a single action. This is especially useful if multiple parts of the Decision Tree require the same results or logic.
To perform this task:
- Select the items to be included.
- Hold down the Ctrl key. The selected items will be surrounded by a thick black border.
- Once all desired items have been selected, click and drag to the left part of the screen.
Example 3: Incorrect Transfer of Item to Decision Tree
In the example below, the user attempted to add an item to an incompatible item. This caused an alert message to appear on the screen.
Example 4: Dropping a Duplicate Item Into a Decision Tree
If the item (result, question, etc.) being dragged into the Decision Tree already exists in the dropped location, the following error message will appear:
