Entry Validation Expanded View

The expanded view displays more detail into what was declared on the entry beyond just the discrepancies highlighted on the
Entry Validation
screen. This expanded view provides visibility of the broker-provided entry data at an entry line level.
Features of the Entry Validation expanded view include:
  • A view of the file the Customs Broker received
  • A view of the data from the entry source and the comparison source
  • Gold-highlighted fields where discrepancies were identified
  • The ability to toggle between the Broker View (which displays the entire filed entry), and the Harmonized View (which displays a subset of the entire entry).
    important
The Harmonized View displays an entry date from multiple Customs Brokers in a common layout. More information on the Harmonized View is provided in the
    Harmonized View
    section of this User Guide.
  • A link to the
    Document Retention
    screen.
  • A message stating how many documents are attached to the entry is hyperlinked to the
    Document Retention
screen, which is used to attach supporting documentation to the entry. For more detail on how to store documents, see the
    Document Retention
    section of this help documentation.
  • Internal, External and Broker notes fields to store notes for each discrepancy.
  • An
    Extract
option to extract the selected list of discrepancies to a spreadsheet.
  • A
    Return to Summary
link that will redirect to the
    Entry Summary
    screen.
Once an individual entry/line is selected, the screen displays a grid at the top with a line for each discrepancy found for the specified entry-line combination. It shows additional information, such as Entry Number, Line Number, Product Number, Entry Date and Error Message.
The grid also displays the Comparison Source and Field Value fields. These fields display the data in ONESOURCE being compared against customs broker entry data. These fields provide the user visibility into what caused the discrepancy and where the error exists (either in ONESOURCE or in the entry).
Value

Source Field Name
The field value containing the error message.
Source Field Value

If added during implementation, this screen may contain other fields (e.g., Liquidation Date, Purchase Order, Broker Name, etc.).
From this screen, it is possible to:
  • Link back to ONESOURCE Global Classification to view the product record data via the hyperlinked product number and source document
  • View the data contained in the entry
Designated field labels on the
Entry Validation
screen’s
Broker Data
and
Harmonized Data
tabs are directly linked to associated data on other pages. These labels can be used for examining data in a more efficient manner.

Multi-HS Functionality on Expanded Entry Validation (Configurable)

important
This feature will only be available if the user’s software was configured to include the Multi-HS functionality.
In the expanded Multi-HS view, selecting the main entry line will reload the
Entry Validation
screen.
When the screen reloads, an additional grid will appear above the discrepancy grid. This additional grid shows the user all additional classification lines associated to the entry line being reviewed.
To view more information about a specific line, select an Entry Number (EntryNum).
Selecting the Entry Number on an additional classification line (either in the initial overview grid or the additional grid above the discrepancy grid) will trigger the
Entry Validation
screen to reload. When the screen finishes reloading:
  1. The discrepancy grid will show information specific to the selected additional classification line.
  2. The additional grid will no longer be visible on the screen.
