Using Reason Codes as Key Performance Indicators
Reason Codes can be configured to capture Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the actual Validation Type error. Reason Codes are user-defined codes that can also include descriptions about what the code represents.
Reason Codes are an excellent way to capture the following in a KPI Report format:
- The total number of Validation Type errors occurred over a specified period of time
- The root causes for the Validation Type errors
- The percentage of time a specific party was responsible for those errors
Notes pertaining to the Reason Codes can also be entered as references to the errors and to any other actions taken to resolve the issues. Reason Code notes are included in the audit trail and can be viewed by selecting the
Notes/View Notes
option when it appears on a screen/tab in ONESOURCE Entry Verification.
