Validate

The
Validate
option on the
Entry Validation
screen is used for identifying incorrect or missing data within ONESOURCE Global Classification.
important
This feature only works if the client user also has ONESOURCE Global Classification. If ONESOURCE Global Classification has not been set up, Product Numbers will be black instead of blue and will not link to ONESOURCE Global Classification.
To fix a Global Classification error, choose a product number from the grid below and click on the product number.
Clicking on a product number will open a separate browser tab containing the
Edit Classification
screen from ONESOURCE Global Classification. The selected product number will be pre-filtered for the
Edit Classification
screen.
important
The
Search
or
Edit
screen from the menu can also perform this task but will not open a separate screen. This requires manual navigation back to Entry Verification.
To load the product record to update, click
Go
.
Scroll through the
Edit Classification
screen to find the field(s) containing the validation error(s). Any field containing a validation error will have a red border. Make any necessary changes to resolve the error(s).
After all errors have been fixed, click
Save
to save changes in Global Classification.
The
Edit Classification
browser tab can now be closed. Return to the
Entry Validation
screen, which will still be open in the other browser tab. Once back on the
Entry Validation
screen, click
Validate
and wait for the validation engine to finish re-validating entries.
The validation process will compare the updated entry data against what is in the system. Every second, the screen will refresh to show which validation steps have been completed. Wait for the validation engine to complete the re-validation process, and then click
Refresh
.
Once the validation workflow is complete, the following validation message will appear:
If the updated data in Global Classification is correct (i.e., matches the entry), the validation error will close and be written to the history table. Since the error has been resolved, it will no longer appear on the
Entry Validation
screen.
