Validation Type

Validation Types are the error types flagged in the system when discrepancies are present between the entry and data stored in the system. While Validation Groups indicate the data source, Validation Types indicate specifically which data field contains the error. The Validation Type drop-down on the
Entry Validation
 screen displays the Validation Types configured during implementation.
To display only a certain Validation Type, click on the Validation Type drop-down and choose a Validation Type for the filter.

Description
All
Displays all discrepancies across all entries for the selected Validation Group.
Other Validation Types
Displays filter discrepancies based on the selected Validation Type (HS Number, Manufacturer ID, Product Number, COO, NAFTA Recon Flag, etc.)
Provided below is an example list of Validation Type error messages caused by discrepancies between the entry data and the data stored within ONESOURCE Global Classification:
  • Entry HS Number does not match Global Classification HS Number.
  • Entry Country of Origin does not match Global Classification Country of Origin.
  • Entry PGA Code does not match Global Classification FDA AOC Code.
  • Entry Importer of Record number does not match Global Classification Importer of Record number.
  • Entry Manufacturer ID does not match Global Classification Manufacturer ID.
  • Entry Product Number does not match Global Classification Product Number.
  • Entry Reconciliation Flag does not match Global Classification Reconciliation Flag.
  • Entry SPI Code does not match Global Classification SPI Code.
To filter discrepancies by a Validation Type, choose a Validation Type from the
Validation Type
. Once a Validation Type is selected, the
Entry Validation
 screen will only display entry lines with errors matching the selected Validation Type.
In the example below, the user selected the Product Number (
ProductNum
) Validation Type.
It is possible to select any entry to view detailed information at the entry line level, regardless of whether any filter fields were selected.
To view the additional details of an entry, choose an entry from the grid to review. Once an entry has been selected, click the corresponding Entry Number (
Entry Num
) link.
Once an Entry Number is selected, an expanded view will appear at the bottom of the
Entry Validation
 screen. This section will include more detailed information about the selected Entry Number.
Fields containing a discrepancy will be bordered in gold:
To view more specific details on the discrepancy, hover the cursor over a gold field.
If configured during the implementation process, the Entry Verification solution can also provide a link to Filer Entry Packet for the selected entry at the bottom of the Entry Validation screen. The link will be shown at the base of the Harmonized/Broker Tab views.
If the entry does not have an Entry Packet associated with it, or it is no longer in the system, the screen will display the following message in place of the link:
This file no longer exists
.
