SFD Assignment
The first step once the goods arrive at the port is to make a Simplified Frontier Declaration (SFD), only applicable when you have simplification authorization, else create a full Declaration.
SFD is a light/skinny declaration that is done by Brokers at the ports to release the containers and allow the goods to move to the warehouse. SFD data is loaded into the system either via an interface, s/s upload or manual entry.
You can access this screen under the
Customs Regimes (CW and CDS)
menu option, below SFD and Broker Integration
, as SFD Assignment
.
To create a new SFD.
- ClickNewat the top right of the screen.
- Enter other details. Leave the fields highlighted in grey for the broker to Fill.
- ClickSave.
- ClickNotify Broker. This will trigger an email notification to the broker requesting to fill in the details.

- After the broker fills in the details, review and clickFinalise.
Once finalised, system will lock down the fields to prevent further editing, and at the same time, create a skeleton SDI which is the supplementary declaration for import which carries over the details and specifically the UCR (Unique Consignment Reference) from the SFD so that customs can see that the two declarations are linked.
