Enter Emergency Procedure
If the customs system is down, generate a written declaration (PDF) as a backup using the
Emergency Procedure
.This applies to declarations not yet accepted or without a response. You can only use this procedure if:
- Customs report a malfunction on the National Customs Helpdesk website.
- You have permission from Customs in other cases.

You can use
Emergency Procedure
only if customs have not accepted the Departure or Arrival declaration. To qualify, ensure the declaration is in draft form or has been rejected at the IE015/IE007 stage.- Go to theDVA DepartureorDVA Arrivalscreen.
- Ensure you selectCurrentdeclarations.

- Select the expand

- Select the record you want to set for an emergency procedure and expand
it. - Go to theDeclaration datatab.
- In theRelease typefield, select2 - Emergency procedure.

- SelectSave and Validate.
Ensure there are no warnings or errors in the Validation warningstab, otherwise you won’t be able to enable theemergency procedure./Images/validation-warnings-tab.png)
- TheEmergency procedurelink will appear in theMessagestab. Note that altering any information will remove this link.
In theEmergency Proceduresection, if our application malfunctions, request permission from customs to use the emergency procedure. An internal incident number will be automatically generated. Additionally, if Customs announces a DVA malfunction via the National Customs Helpdesk website, enter the Customs incident number provided in the designated field; otherwise, leave the field blank. - SelectEmergency procedureand confirm your choice.

- You have enabled theemergency procedureinDVA Departure, selectEmergency TAD/TAD Lol Report File Downloadto download a PDF with declaration data, excluding an MRN. This document can be submitted to customs or emailed manually.

You can also access this report directly from the
DVA departure
or DVA Arrival
screen. To do this, find the declaration you want and select the link in the TAD
column. This action will download a PDF report to your local database.Once completed, the declaration moves to the
Completed
section. The declaration's status changes to Handled Externally
, making the data non-editable.You can download the report once again by selecting the
TAD
