Third-party handling

Setting a declaration in DVA as
“Third-Party Handled”
in the DVA system indicates that an entity other than the original declarant or carrier is responsible for managing the goods and completing the necessary customs procedures at the destination.
Important:
You
can’t
select this option for declarations with a
System Released
status.
  1. Go to the
    DVA Departure
    or
    DVA Arrival
    screen.
  2. Ensure you select
    Current
    declarations.
  3. Select the expand icon to view more information on a declaration.
  4. Select the record you want to set for third-party handling and expand it.
  5. Go to the
    Declaration data
    tab.
  6. In the
    Release type
    field, select
    3 – Third-party handled.
  7. Select
    Save and Validate
    . The
    Third Party Release
    button becomes visible.
  8. Ensure there are no warnings or errors in the
    Validation warnings
    tab, otherwise you won’t be able to enable third-party handling.
  9. Confirm your action in the alert that appears.
    important
    Once a declaration is set as
    Third-Party Handled
    , this action cannot be reversed. Ensure that all details are correct before proceeding, as you will not be able to revert this setting.
    Result:
    Once the declaration is Third Party Handled successfully, the declaration will move to
    Completed
    status, and all fields will become read-only.
  10. The state of the declaration will be updated to
    System Released
    .
