While researching the results of validation during Foreign Trade Zone daily processing this guide provides details on common Item Master validations encountered, what they represent, and how to correct.

IM010 - Item Master - Missing Parent To Child Relationship | There is an incomplete Item Master record.

IM020 - Item Master - Invalid Product Type Code | Verify that the ProductTypeCode used is a valid ProductTypeCode in Global Codes maintenance. A ProductTypeCode other than the default values PC, IM, or NM cannot be used.

IM030 - Item Master - Missing Product Description | The product is missing the product description. A product description is required and cannot be blank.

IM035 - Item Master - Invalid Transaction Quantity UOM | The TxnQtyUOM must be a valid code included in the Global Codes maintenance.

Add new TxnQtyUOM using Maintenance → Global Codes or update TxnQtyUOM in Global Classification or Item Master. |
IM040 - Item Master - Weight Should Be Positive | The value of the Weight use cannot be a negative value or zero.

IM045 - Item Master - Invalid Weight UOM | The WeightUOM is not KG. Any other UOM used will display an error.

IM050 - Item Master - Commercial Value Should Be Zero or Positive | The CommercialValue used cannot be less than zero.

IM060 - Item Master - Invalid NAFTA Certified Flag | The NAFTACertifiedFlag must be ‘N’ or ‘Y’. Any value other than ‘N’ or ‘Y’ will cause an error.

IM070 - Item Master - Invalid HTS Index | The HTSIndex used is not in the HTS Codes maintenance.

IM080 - Item Master - Invalid Status Code | StatusCode must be a one-letter character. Below are what each character represents: D – Domestic N – Non-privileged Foreign P – Privileged Foreign Z – Zone Restricted

IM090 - Item Master - Invalid Manufacturer ID | The ManufacturerID used is not in the ManufacturerID maintenance.

IM100 – Item Master - Invalid Country of Origin. | The CountryOfOrigin used is not a valid country code in the Country maintenance.

IM110 - Item Master - Invalid HTS Number 2 | The HTSNum2 used is not in the HTS Codes maintenance.

IM120 - Item Master - Value Should Be Zero or Positive | The Value used cannot be less than zero.

IM130 - Item Master - HTS Number 2 Should Contain Data When Value 2 Contains Data | The Value2 used is less than zero or if the Value2 is not zero and the HTSNum2 is blank. If Value2 is populated, then HTSNum2 should be populated.

IM140 - Item Master - Invalid Currency Code | The CurrencyCode used is blank or is not a valid currency code in the Country maintenance.

IM160 - Item Master - HTS Number 2 Should Contain Data When Alternate Value 2 Contains Data | The AltValue2 used is less than zero or if the AltValue2 is not zero and the HTSNum2 is blank. If AltValue2 is populated, then HTSNum2 should be populated.
