Adding a New Mapping in Edit Custom Mappings
To add a new mapping, click
Add Record
.
A data entry line will appear on the grid. There are two ways to enter an HS Number in this line, and both are described in the pages below.
Selecting an HS Number via Global Tariffs
The first method involves clicking the tag icon to the right of the
Source HS Number
or Mapped HS Number
fields. Clicking a tag will open the Global Tariffs Detail
pop-up, where the user can select an HS Number directly from ONESOURCE Global Trade Content.To view the HS Numbers available, choose a header and click the “
+
” button to the left.
The chapter level will become visible. Choose a chapter and click its corresponding “
+
”.
All HS Numbers within the chapter will become visible. To select an HS Number, click “
Select
”. HS Numbers that are entered this way are automatically flagged as valid.
Manually Entering an HS Number
The second method involves manually typing an HS Number into the
Source HS Number
or Mapped HS Number
fields.Choose a country from the
Mapped Country
drop-down. The drop-down list will automatically populate based on the rules described above. After all data has been entered for the new mapping, click Insert
.
Once
Insert
is clicked, the system will validate the Source and Mapped HS Numbers. A validation message will appear at the top of the screen, letting the user know whether or not there were any validation issues with one or both of the HS Numbers.
