Editing an Existing HS Mapping
There are two ways to edit existing mappings: manually and via a spreadsheet upload.
Modifying an Individual HS Mapping
To manually edit an individual HS mapping, choose a mapping from the
Edit Custom Mappings
grid and click its corresponding Edit
link on the far left.
Make any necessary changes, and then click
Update
on the far left.
Once
Update
is clicked, the system will validate the Source and Mapped HS Numbers. A validation message will appear at the top of the screen, letting the user know whether or not there were any validation issues with one or both of the HS Numbers.
Mass-Editing Multiple HS Mappings (Extract)
To mass-edit multiple HS mappings, click
Extract
at the top right of the screen.
Wait for the system to complete the extract. When the extract is ready, the following validation message will appear on the screen:
All cross-reference HS Mappings for the selected country will be extracted into a spreadsheet. If the grid was filtered when
Extract
was clicked, the filters will be applied to the spreadsheet. The internet browser will generate a pop-up, asking the user to save, open, or dismiss the new spreadsheet.
Once the spreadsheet is opened, the user can edit existing HS Mappings or add new HS Mappings, as long as the same Source Country is used throughout the spreadsheet. Make any necessary changes and save the spreadsheet.
Once the spreadsheet has been updated, return to the
Edit Custom Mappings
screen and click Upload
.
Clicking
Upload
will open the Upload
pop-up. Click on the Browse
… button and select the updated spreadsheet. Once the spreadsheet has been selected, click Upload
. Clicking Upload
will import the contents of the spreadsheet into ONESOURCE Global Classification. ONESOURCE Global Trade Content will automatically run a series of validation checks on the uploaded HS Numbers to ensure they are all valid.If any of the HS Numbers are found to be invalid, a message will be provided letting the user know how to find the lines flagged with invalid HS Numbers.
