Set/Kit Breakdown

Utilizing “Set/Kit” Breakdown for a Product Record

The
Set/Kit Breakdown
feature allows products to be broken down or connected to a set or group, such as a kit or the parts to a clock/watch. This facilitates easier handling and viewing of product records with attached sub-products and components.
To add
or
view a set
, click the
Set
” button at the top of the
Edit Classification
screen. The number in parentheses after the
Set
button indicates how many component records have already been saved for the currently selected product.
Clicking
Set
will open the
Set Breakdown
pop-up, which contains the set information associated to the parent product. This information is provided in more detail in the sub-sections listed below.
Set Types
There are two set types within Set Breakdown:

Set
If this option is selected, each component will be reported on a different line.
Clock/Watch
If this option is selected, all components will be reported on the same line. This will trigger the system to apply specific parameters to the set, such as: 1. Validating all HS Numbers are unique across all components 2. Ensuring the set is reported correctly on a CF7501 (if applicable)
To change set types, click the
Change Set Type
to button at the top of the
Set Breakdown
pop-up. It is also possible to:
  • Change the Set Status from
    Active
    to
    Inactive
    or vice versa. This can be done by clicking the
    Change Status
    button.
  • Clear the data entry fields each time a new component is added. This can be done by
    checking
    the
    Clear entry data on each add?
    box.
Add a Set Record in Set Breakdown
To add a set record
, fill out all applicable data in the provided fields. Once all data has been provided, click
Add
.
The new component record will appear in the grid:
Editing an Existing Component Record in Set Breakdown
To edit an existing component record, choose a Product Number (
ProductNum
) and click the product’s corresponding
Edit
button on the far left.
Make any necessary changes
and then click
Update
.Clicking
Cancel
will drop the changes without saving them.
Deleting an Existing Component Record in Set Breakdown
To delete an existing component record
, choose a Product Number (
ProductNum
) and click the product’s corresponding
Delete
button.
A confirmation pop-up will appear on the screen. Click
OK
to continue. The record will then be successfully deleted.
Adding PGA Information to an Existing Set Record
To add Partnering Government Agency (PGA) information to an existing set record, choose a Product Number (
ProductNum
) and click the product’s corresponding
PGA
button.
Clicking
PGA Data
will open the
PGA Data
screen, which allows for product-level PGA data to be entered for associated set components. For a complete overview of populating tabs and fields within the PGA section, please refer to the PGA User Guide.

Sets Grid

Aside from the
Set Breakdown
pop-up, users also have the ability to view high-level set data from the
Sets
grid on the main
Edit Classification
screen. This grid can be used to:
  1. View all associated set records for the selected Product Number/Country Profile combination.
  2. Open the
    Set Breakdown
    screen from the panel.
To open the
Sets
grid, click on the drop-down icon to the left of the
Sets
bar.
This configurable grid will show critical set information for all components within the selected product’s set. More information can be viewed by clicking the
View Sets
button.
Clicking
View Sets
will open the
Set Breakdown
pop-up. This pop-up is described in more detail in the
Set Breakdown
section of this User Guide.
