Match country-specific HS numbers to their corresponding global 6-digit HS Numbers

  1. In the
    Classification queues
     screen, select the
    HS suggestions
     work queue.
  2. Select a
    Country profile
     in the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the
    Country-specific to Global
     tab.
    The
    Country-specific to Global
     grid shows the following information:
    Column
    Description
    Product number
    A unique identifier helps track the specific product within the system.
    Global product description
    A description of the product associated with the suggested global HS number.
    Country-specific product description
    A product description specific to a particular country.
    Current global HS number
    Populates with the correct 6-digit global HS number.
    Current country-specific HS number
    Identifies the code used in a specific country and often includes additional digits beyond the global HS number.
    Suggested global HS number
    The system pre-populates this based on the global 6-digit HS number.
  4. Use the table buttons to filter your results.
  5. Select the
    HS numbers
     you want to update.
  6. Select
    Update to suggested global HS number
    .
    When this action occurs, the application will replace the content of the
    Current global HS number column
     with the numbers of the
    Suggested global HS number
    .
  7. After this update, there will be no Global versus country-specific inconsistencies, and therefore, the product will no longer appear on the grid.
