Getting started in PGA mapping

  1. In the main
    Global Classification
    menu, choose
    PGA Mapping
    .
  2. Choose the
    Application Feature
    you want to utilize. In this situation, select
    Global Classification
    .
  3. Select the correct
    Trade direction (Import or Export) and agency
    . You can choose from the following options:
  • All agencies.
  • Individual ones, separated between import and export.
After selecting the information you want to view, a grid will appear showing the following details:

PGA record
Selecting a PGA record link opens a single view screen with PGA product information where you can:
  • Edit the commercial description
  • Add items
  • Copy its data
  • Delete data
GC product number
Selecting a GC product number link opens the
Product record
screen where you can view and edit information about a product.
Product description
A textual description of the product, including its main features and characteristics.
HS number
The Harmonized System (HS) number used for classifying the product in international trade.
Record status
Indicates the status of the record. Which can be:
  • Complete
  • Incomplete
Country of origin
The country where the product was manufactured or produced.
Manufacturer ID
A unique identifier assigned to the manufacturer of the product.
Has PGA data
Indicates whether the product record contains data from Participating Government Agencies (Yes/No).
Agency code
The code representing the specific Partner Government Agency associated with the product.
Program code
A unique identifier used to categorize and manage various programs, initiatives, or requirements that fall under the jurisdiction of Customs Automated Trade Interface Requirements (CATAIR).
Indicator code
A code used to indicate specific conditions or requirements related to the product, as per regulatory or classification guidelines.
