PGA header (PG01)

When editing or creating new PGA data for a product, you will always start on the
PGA Header (PG01)
section. The upper section of the PGA Header correlates with the 01 Record of the PGA Message set. The PG01 record is a generic description record in the PGA message set. Only one PG01 Record is allowed per HTS code.
  1. Select the
    Agency code
    link.
  2. In the pop up that appears, fill in with the following information.

    Agency code*
    A code that identifies the PGA. For a list of valid codes, refer to Appendix V Government Agency Codes for ACE.
    Program code*
    A unique identifier used to categorize and manage various programs, initiatives, or requirements that fall under the jurisdiction of Customs Automated Trade Interface Requirements (CATAIR).
    PGA indicator*
    The HTS agency flagging code for the PGA. This field is also where you would flag the disclaimer code for products selected as Disclaimed.
    Agency processing code
    A code that identifies the specific PGA processing requirements for the related PGA data set (e.g. EPA’s Vehicles and Engines may have a processing code for Off Road vehicles). For a list of valid codes, refer to Appendix PGA.
    Confidential information
    Select
    Yes
    if you want to indicate that information should be treated as confidential, per the agency’s regulations. Otherwise, choose
    No
    .
    Globally unique product identification code qualifier
    Select UPC (Universal product code) or GS1 Global Trade Item Number.
    Globally unique product identification code
    A unique number used to identify the commercial product or commodity in the global supply chain (i.e. the GTIN or UPC Code number).
    Electronic image submitted
    Select
    Yes
    to indicate that image(s) for PGA use will be submitted via DIS.
    Intended use code
    A code identifying the product’s intended use base code and sub-code. Refer to Appendix R Intended Use Codes for ACE-valid codes.
    Correction indicator
    A - Add
    D - Delete
    R - Replace
    Intended use description
    If “For Other Use” (980.000) code is used, then a free text description of the intended use is mandatory.
  3. Fill all the required fields indicated with an asterisk *.
  4. Select
    Save.
  5. Confirm the changes.
    After completing and saving the
    PGA Header
    section, proceed to the
    PG02
    section.
