The SOLAS fields allow importers to record required data to meet the Safety of Life at Sea Requirement. Companies can track the actual Verified Gross Mass (VGM), verification method, person/signature verifying the VGM being reported. In order to assist in calculating a container’s VGM, the system supports entering tare weight separately. If this data is entered, companies can generate a VGM Certificate to share with carriers, forwarders, and other supply chain partners.
