The
Handbook Balance Report
is a valuable tool within the ONESOURCE™ Global Trade platform that allows you to:- Generate and view handbook balance information: this report provides a detailed picture of the "balance" of your raw materials within a specific period.
- Generate outbound XML for National Single Window (NSW): you can generate an XML file containing the balance information for submission to China Customs via the NSW application.
The report focuses on various quantities related to your raw materials, such as:
Theoretical Remaining Qty
: this represents the theoretical quantity of raw materials remaining based on the initial stock and any registered additions.Total Consumption Qty
: this reflects the total quantity of raw materials consumed in production as per your registered BOMs (Bill of Materials).Net Consumption Qty
: this is typically calculated as the difference between the Theoretical Remaining Qty and the Total Consumption Qty. It indicates the actual net consumption of raw materials.Open the Handbook Balance report
- In the main menu, selectPTR.
- Go toHandbook Balance Report.

Find a Balance Report
- Look for theFind Declarationdropdown menu within theHandbook Balance Reportscreen.
- The dropdown menu lists existing reports identified by a combination of elements, such as "ehandbook – reconciliationTimes" followed by a code (e.g., "emsNo6444444 – 1"). These elements represent a unique identifier for each report and the reconciliation time.
- Select the specific report you want to view or edit from theFind Declarationdropdown menu. Once you select a report, the system should populate the report details for you.
Download a Bonded Component Balance Report
- Identify theExtract Bonded Component Balance Reportbutton within theHandbook Balance Reportscreen.
- SelectDownload extract. The system will prompt you to save the report file.
- Choose a suitable location on your computer to save the downloaded report.

Create a Handbook Balance Report
- In theHandbook Balance Reportscreen, select New on the top right of the screen.This action will open the tabs and fields for handbook registration.
- Input data into the fields in each tab accordingly.
- SelectSave and Validate.
