External API – HS code change detection and audit logging

What it is
: We have introduced automatic detection and logging for changes to HS codes, including updates to key fields such as
descriptions
,
codes
,
controls
, and
charges
. Additionally, an API is now available to check whether a specific HS code has changed since a specified timestamp.

External content APIs – ECN

What it is
: As a part of this release, we've built APIs to access
Export Control Numbers
 (ECN) data in
Global Trade Content
. This update allows you to retrieve essential data, including control reasons and exceptions required for customs declaration filings.
Benefit to you
: This enhancement provides you with real-time access to critical regulatory information, streamlining your compliance processes. The APIs offer various functionalities:
  • ecn/detail:
     Provides descriptions, effective start and end dates, and control reasons for the given Export Control Number.
  • ecn/available-licenses:
     Informs about potential licenses or exceptions that may exist for particular ECNs.
  • ecn/determination:
     Assists in identifying the correct ECN for products. This API pulls ECN numbers based on HS codes or description provided as input.
  • ecn/map-to-country:
     Maps ECNs across different countries' control lists, providing corresponding numbers and descriptions.
  • ecn/search:
     Pulls a list of ECN numbers and their descriptions that fall under a given heading within a specific country or list.

Content APIs – Subscription screen

What it is
: We have introduced a new screen that enables you to request API client credentials (
client_id
 and
client_secret
) without manual intervention. Once a request is submitted, it is reviewed and approved by the designated Content approver. Upon approval, the credentials are automatically provisioned and displayed for easy copying.
