Initiate Inventory Processing (FIFO)

The
Initiate Inventory Processing
 screen is used to initiate the “First In First Out” (FIFO) consumption of receipts by shipment transaction. This step is where shipments consume inventory in a FIFO manner (oldest receipts are shipped out first). Only unconsumed entries will remain in inventory. This screen can be accessed by choosing “Initiate Inventory Processing” from the
Drawback
 menu.
After all transactions have been validated, this screen processes all inventory transactions within the system.
To begin the FIFO process, click
Process FIFO
. Shipments will then begin consuming receipts in a FIFO manner.
The Drawback module will process FIFO with the use of the module’s built-in Automation. More details about the Drawback module’s Automation can be can be reviewed in the Automation section of this Help.

Validation Error Messages

If the transactions in current processing have not been successfully validated, navigating to the
Initiate Inventory Processing
 screen will result in an error message with a link to the
Transaction Correction
 screen as seen below. If this error appears during Drawback Processing, the system will send an email notification out to the email addresses associated for the Drawback Processing generated messages.
After all transactions are validated and FIFO has processed successfully, the screen will update with a message showing “Step Name – Status: FIFO – Completed” followed by a timestamp of when FIFO successfully completed. At this point, the system’s automation will prepare to finalize the process that has just occurred.

Finalize FIFO

After FIFO has successfully completed and Drawback Processing’s automation has moved to the next processing step,
Finalize FIFO
 will begin.
The Drawback module will finalize FIFO runs with the use of the module’s built-in Automation. More details can be reviewed in the
Automation
 section of this Help. After FIFO is finalized successfully, the system will send a completion email notification out to the email addresses added during implementation of the module.
