API Calculator
The
API Calculator
tool is used for ensuring that the Weight (LBS)
and Pounds Per Barrel
are strictly calculated using you-entered Volume
and API Gravity
. No variance is allowed between the weight entered by you and the calculated weight. This tool can be opened by choosing API Calculator
from the Tools
menu.There are separate API calculations by refinery where the formula is the same, but the constant values are different. The Density of Water and Atmospheric Factor constants are maintained within the
Defaults
Maintenance table.You may calculate the
Volume (BBL), API Gravity
, or Weight (LBS)
by entering values for the two fields that will not be calculated.The
Pounds per Barrel
will be calculated along with the chosen field to calculate from the above list.
