Form 5123 print requirements

To print Form 5123, Detroit Estimated Tax:
  1. Make sure Michigan and the City of Detroit are turned on.
  2. In
    Organizer
    , go to
    Cities
    Counties
    Intangibles
    Tangible
    .
  3. Select
    Michigan Cities
    , then go to
    Michigan Cities
    Detroit
    General Information
    .
  4. Select
    Detroit
     from the
    City in which income was earned
     dropdown.
  5. Verify extension settings:
    1. Option A: In
      Organizer
      , go to
      Cities
      Counties
      Intangibles
      Tangible
      Michigan Cities
      Detroit
      Extension Information
      , and make sure no
      Extension Option
       is selected; or
    2. Option B: In
      Organizer
      , go to
      Payments and Extensions
      Extensions
      State Options and Payments
      Extension Tax Options
      , and select any option other than
      Extension option is not Alpha only
      .
  6. Do a full recompute, then print.
If the form doesn’t print, check if it's suppressed:
  1. In
    Organizer
    , go to
    Estimates and Penalties
    Estimated Tax
    Overpayment
    General Options
    .
  2. In the
    Estimated Tax
     section, make sure the
    Estimate Option
     dropdown doesn't have
    Suppress compute and print estimated tax
     selected.
  3. Verify 1 of the following:
    1. In
      Organizer
      , go to
      Estimates and Penalties
      Estimated Tax
      Overpayment
      General Options
      , and make sure
      Estimate with Alphabetic Information Only
       is not selected from the
      Estimate Option
       dropdown; or
    2. In
      Organizer
      , go to
      Estimates and Penalties
      Estimated Tax
      Overpayment
      General Options
      Application of Overpayment
      , and make sure
      Entire overpayment is not applied to next year's estimated tax
       is not selected from the
      Overpayment Option
       dropdown.
  4. Do a full recompute, then print.
note
  • Line 7
     of the estimated tax worksheet is not less than the threshold, and
    Suppress estimates if estimated tax is less than the threshold
     is not selected.
  • Taxpayer (and spouse, if MFJ) is not marked as deceased.
  • Browser batch estimates are not selected.
Verify internal batch estimates and extension is not selected:
  1. In
    Organizer
    , go to
    Estimate and Extension Package
    Estimate and Extension Package selection Options
    .
  2. Make sure
    Do Not Generate Batch Package
     is not selected for internal batch estimates and extension.
Verify force print estimates worksheet for applicable jurisdictions is selected:
  1. In
    Organizer
    , go to
    States
    Common State
    Estimates
    Estimate Options
    Estimated Tax Options
    .
  2. Make sure the
    Force print estimates worksheet for applicable jurisdictions
     checkbox is marked.
